Mervyn Francis

Mervyn has been in the theatrical world for almost all hisworking life. After training at the Evelyn Crees School of Music, Speech & Drama, his career has covered most aspects of the business, Theatre, Television, Holiday Centre Entertainment, and Club work with his own Cabaret Act.
After gaining much initial experience as a singer in the original Black & White Minstrels, and a period of Rep, three years in the original Bachelors Show both on TV and in summer season for the Robert Luff Organisation he also appeared on the Cabaret circuit, at Lakeside, Talk Of The East, The Cresta and Castaways Clubs in Birmingham, to name but a few.  In I992 he became Entertainment Executive for Holimarine, co-ordinating entertainment for six sites, and won a number fine accolades for his own style of fast moving floor shows. He then moved to Barry Island Resort in 1995 & 1996 and as Entertainments Manager was responsible for the running of thirty Blue Coat Entertainers, in addition to booking cabarets, and producing shows, in the in-house Gaiety Theatre. There have been many TV appearances along the way, then went on to return to his first love, “Theatre” in which he has worked extensively over the last thirteen years, touring the length & breadth of the country in Duggie Chapman’s “We’ll Meet Again”.

This year he will also be celebrating his 48th year in showbiz.
